01 // SYSTEM OVERVIEW
LetsIELTS was built to solve the biggest hurdle for IELTS test candidates: accessible, accurate, and affordable mock test evaluation. We engineered an end-to-end web portal and mobile app where students practice under authentic exam conditions with instant AI feedback.
THE CHALLENGE
Traditional IELTS preparation requires expensive human tutoring, especially for evaluating the Speaking and Writing sections. The engineering hurdle was to build a real-time conversational speaking simulation that captures student audio with low latency, transcribes speech accurately across diverse non-native accents, and computes reliable band estimates automatically.
THE ARCHITECTURE SOLUTION
We combined Next.js for the responsive web portal and Flutter for the cross-platform mobile app. For the speaking test module, we integrated low-latency audio capture pipelines with Whisper AI for transcription, coupled with an evaluation engine that scores grammar, lexical diversity, coherence, and pronunciation.
