01 // SYSTEM OVERVIEW

TeDAR brings Augmented Reality to architectural and terrace design. The application enables homeowners and landscapers to point their mobile camera at an open terrace, detect floor planes in real time, place interactive 3D decoration models, and calculate exact dimensions and placement boundaries.

THE CHALLENGE

Rendering realistic 3D assets on mobile devices while continuously running AR camera plane detection requires careful memory and GPU management. Ensuring that virtual objects remain stable and accurately scaled relative to real terrace boundaries without drift was a key technical obstacle.

THE ARCHITECTURE SOLUTION

We architected TeDAR using Flutter with native ARCore (Android) and ARKit (iOS) bridges. We optimized lightweight 3D GLTF models with PBR textures and implemented real-time raycasting and surface boundary calculations to compute spacing, clearance, and layout dimensions dynamically.
